Tavola, linen throw

The plain linen throw of the Tavola line: five warm colours, machine washable, for every season.

A plain throw with fringes, in a linen, viscose and polyester blend. The same three-fibre composition as the Tavola Check, 48% linen, 29% viscose, 23% polyester, the same size and the same weight, without the check: here the cloth is plain and the natural texture of the linen carries it. The palette is warm and earthy: Beige, Brick, Walnut, Pink, Dark Brown. Five colours that recall natural materials, wood, terracotta, stone.

Plain linen

Without the check, the subject becomes the texture of the linen: the faintly irregular weave, the natural variation in the fibre, the surface that moves between smoother and rougher. It is a look that works particularly well in the warm end of the palette, where Brick and Walnut have a materiality that a smooth uniform cloth loses.

The three-fibre blend

The 48% linen gives the cloth its identity: breathable, cool, long-wearing, better after every wash. The 29% viscose softens the linen, which on its own can be stiff, and adds a more fluid fall. The 23% polyester stabilises the cloth, works against the linen's tendency to crease and keeps the shape over time. Three fibres, each covering what the others lack.
