Flat Throw, linen and viscose
Square, light and luminous: 190 by 190 cm of linen and viscose, for a throw that works all year.
A square throw, larger and lighter than the others in the Sofia Toscano catalogue. The linen and viscose blend makes a cool cloth with a faint sheen, smooth to the touch. Nine colours, from neutral to bright.
Colours: Light blue, Beige, Blue, Turmeric, Fuchsia, Grey, Lilac, Brown, Pink.
The cloth
The linen, at 55%, gives the throw its main quality: it breathes. It is a fibre that does not hold heat, which is why this one still works in high summer, rare for a throw. The viscose, at 45%, softens the hand and adds the light natural sheen that linen alone would not have. What results is a smooth, luminous surface, unlike the rougher texture of a wool or cotton throw.
The square format
190 by 190 cm is unusual for a throw, and it is worth saying why it matters. A square that size covers a two-seat sofa or a single bed with room to spare. It also works as a decorative cover on a double, or spread on grass. A square is more versatile than the usual rectangle because it has no obligatory direction.
The colours
Nine variants across different registers: Beige, Grey and Brown sit in a room without imposing; Light blue, Blue and Lilac bring a cool, calming note; Turmeric, Fuchsia and Pink add a warm, lively accent. The sheen of the viscose makes every colour read deeper than it would on a matt cloth.
